Why hello there!

I am a surface pattern designer living in Melbourne, Australia. I graduated from RMIT University in 2014 with a BA in Textile Design. Woohoo!

My work reflects my love of colour and nature. All artworks begin by using hand generated media such as collage and loose ink mark making. Followed by looking at ways to incorporate the digital sphere without losing the artworks original integrity and handwriting.

I have loved seeing my patterns used across fashion, home, stationery, packaging, installations, murals, apps and many other wonderful things.

Some of my awesome clients include Anthropologie, Google, Nike, Häagen-Dazs, Microsoft, Penguin, Gorman, Penguin Books, Kuwaii, It’s Nice That, Country Road and Frankie Magazine.

Besides working I love to cook up big savoury dishes, adding salt to all foods, long chats, being a dog creep and watching too much reality TV. My proudest work to date is my baby girl Charlotte Jean who we welcomed into the world in September 2019.

I grew up in a small tropical town in North Queensland surrounded by sugar cane and probably spent way too much time in the sun. This has had a huge influence on my work and my love of colour.

My main gig these days is running my label Variety Hour, which is a print focused lifestyle label selling womens clothing. We make everything in Melbourne and have a shop on Gertrude street in Fitzroy. You should come visit us one day.

I exhibited my first solo show 'Gondwanaland' in 2016 with The Design Files and hope to get back into painting on canvas and exhibit again in 2021. So watch this space!

If you would like to work together please get in touch. I still take select commissions as I absolutely love working with clients and pushing my work to new places. Please contact Sarah who is precisely one billion times better at emails than me. You can reach her here - sarah@precisionmgmt.com.au
